History of East Grand Community Services
The mission at EGCS is simple. We strive to deliver programs and services to the East Grand Community including Bingham and Pittman Elementary Schools that encourage the development of social, moral, educational and personal skills.
We operate as a Not-For-Profit organization and are governed by an elected board of professional people who are committed to the intellectual, social, physical, emotional, and spiritual development of young children in this community.
East Grand Church of Christ has always been a community focused family and in 1999 a ministry outreach program was established to reach the needs of Bingham Elementary School.
Bingham is located just a few steps away from East Grand. As a Title 1 school, Bingham has limited means to support special needs, including one-on-one help, before and afterschool programming and social development activities. East Grand felt this was a perfect opportunity to provide needed support within the community. The After School program began in the fall of 2001.
The growing program has positively impacted hundreds of children and families within the Bingham community and has provided Church members with volunteer opportunities to give back to the community.
In order to expand the opportunities to bring support to this community, East Grand Community Services (EGCS) was established as a separate entity to continue the work the church began. The East Grand Community Services Board was established in January of 2004. This Board now governs the policies and procedures of the East Grand Community Services, as well as serves as a leadership body to promote growth and further excellence in the program.
